Dr Dawn CoverleyDr Rod Adams – Chairman

Rod was a founder and Managing Director of Adams Healthcare Limited, a business focused on dermatology products and infection control, and led the management buyout of Adams Healthcare Limited from DePuy International in 1997. Adams Healthcare was acquired by Medical Solutions plc in 2000 with Rod becoming Chief Operating Officer of that company and also maintaining his position as Managing Director of Adams Healthcare. In 2002, he sold the Adams Healthcare division of Medical Solutions to Ecolab Inc., becoming European Projects Director for Ecolab, based in Germany, until 2004. Rod became a shareholder in Syntopix Group plc, a drug research and development company and was appointed to the Syntopix Board in October 2004. He was appointed CEO for Syntopix in Nov 2005 and led its flotation on the AIM market in March 2006. He became Chairman of Syntopix in Jan 2007 and NED with Perachem (now called Green Chemicals Plc.) from Oct 2005, which floated on Plus market in Jan 2007. Rod became chairman of Cizzle in August 2007.

Dr Dawn CoverleyDr Dawn Coverley – Chief Scientific Officer and founder

Dawn Coverley is a cell biologist with 20 years experience in basic cancer-related research. After a first degree in Genetics, and a PhD in biochemistry (Cancer Research UK), she moved to a cell biology laboratory at Cambridge University in 1992. Her research exploits experimental systems that reconstitute fundamental process associated with DNA metabolism, including DNA repair and DNA replication, and has generated original research articles published in peer review journals including Nature and Nature Cell Biology. In 2001 she was awarded a senior research fellowship by the Lister Institute of Preventive Medicine and established a new research laboratory at the University of York. She founded Cizzle Biotechnology limited in 2005, and raised seed corn funding in 2006. She is currently principal investigator of an academic DNA replication research laboratory at York (50%) and Chief Scientific Officer of Cizzle (50%).
